Printing
I tried to print, but nothing is coming out of the printer. What's wrong?
There could be several things:
First things first - is the printer on?
Is it plugged in to the outlet on the wall & the back of the printer?
Is the printer cable securely plugged into the back of the printer and the back of your PC?
If you've answered "yes" to all of these questions, then try the following:
Is there a small printer icon on your Start bar? (It would be located next to the clock.)
If there isn't, try printing again. It may not have sent your document to the printer.
If there is, double click on the icon. It should
bring up a box looking something like this:

Under the Printer menu, you may see that the printer has been paused. Click on this option to start the printer printing. An option may also be clicked on to "use printer offline." If that is the case, uncheck that option to begin printing.
If the Progress shows "0 of 0 pages" or "0KB", your computer is running low on resources. Try closing a couple of programs and printing again. If you don't have any other programs open, it's time to shut down and reboot your computer. After rebooting, you should be able to print.
If none of the above solutions work, you may need to reinstall your printer driver. Go to the Start button, Settings and the Printers Folder. Delete the printer you are having problems with. Then, using your manufacturer's provided software, try reinstalling the printer.
Another option may be that there is a new driver for your printer. Also, if you have upgraded from Windows 98 to ME or XP, you may need a new driver for your printer. Try going to the manufacturer's website and looking for a new driver.
If you still cannot get the printer to work or need help, give us a call or bring your PC and printer to M & M Programming, Inc., 110 North Spalding Avenue, Lebanon, KY.
